Next, all the way from Perth, was Fraser Anderson. Fraser had a lot to live up to as compere for the evening, Norman Lamont, introduced him by saying he had played a "mesmerising set," at Acoustica lately. But he certainly had no bother living up to it at all. His first song was a very memorable number, which had me gripped from the start with the cracking opening line: "Did you fall out of love with your own life?" His glorious vocal seemed totally effortless and lines like "You let it all fall down around you," gave this a hauntingly sad feel. I'd love to hear this one again. The next song was about carrying on singing despite discouragement, which I think is a great thing to write a song about! Next was a touching, as he described it, "mini-song," in tribute to his wife and baby. It was written 'in the moment' and when he went to finish it later he decided that like that beautiful moment, it was best left just as it was. I am so glad he did because it was perfect.
